It is no secret that YouTube is currently snatching the cherries from Twitch’s cake with tasty deals. More and more major streamers are switching from the purple platform to the red one, often mentioning large businesses. Now Imane “Pokimane” Anys has also hinted that she might not be able to resist such an offer.
Who is Pokimane?
- The streamer ranks 9th worldwide on Twitch with 9.2 million followers. This puts her ahead of star streamers like sodapoppin, tommyinnit, or fellow Amouranth.
- On average, she has over 17,000 viewers and not only does Just Chatting, but also successfully plays Valorant or classics like Among Us.
- Pokimane is considered one of the icons on Twitch and is one of the most important streamers on the platform. Although she sometimes draws attention with her special opinions and does not shy away from direct statements, she is generally seen as a friendly and nice person.
- Recently, the 25-year-old spoke about Myth’s departure and mentioned that she wouldn’t be averse to a YouTube deal.

“Streaming Lifestyle” as a Possible Reason for Switching
What hint did Pokimane make? When viewers asked Pokimane what she thought about Myth’s switch, she said that although she was surprised by the decision, she also somehow expected it at the same time. She couldn’t explain it properly either.
Furthermore, the streamer stated:
He wasn’t always one of the first people I expected to go to YouTube. (…) I think he enjoyed streaming less and less, or maybe just the streaming lifestyle less and less. I mean, I do too, so I think it made sense for him to accept such a deal.

Apparently, Pokimane is currently not enjoying the streaming lifestyle very much either and mentions in the same breath that it makes sense to accept such a YouTube deal. So it could very well be that the red platform has chances with the 25-year-old. In 2020, she still rejected contracts with other livestream platforms and entered into an exclusive contract with Twitch – who knows if this will not expire soon?
Twitch has already lost several major streamers to YouTube
It wasn’t just Myth who switched to YouTube a few days ago. Recently, Twitch also lost one of the best gaming streamers, LilyPichu.
In addition, the big streamer Ludwig switched to YouTube at the end of 2021 because he felt no love from Twitch. Although he did not report any decline in success, he was banned after 3 days right away.
In May 2022 Sykkuno also moved to the red platform, even though he initially did not want to. He actually decided to stay on Twitch, but they misspelled his name in an official and important email, which ultimately led him to decide against them.
YouTube apparently chooses very carefully which streamers they make offers to. They seem to be particularly interested in big stars who usually act nice and/or family-friendly. Those who have a good reputation or have recognition value. It is therefore quite likely that they might approach Pokimane in the future.
