In Pokémon GO the limited research may soon return. Dataminers have found corresponding quests for a new Pokémon from Generation 5: Picochilla.
What did the dataminers find? The code of Pokémon GO revealed corresponding field researches revolving around Picochilla. However, they do not seem to be for a Community Day or the normal quests. They are called “Minccino Research” and thus exactly like other quests for such events.
This likely means that we can soon experience new limited research. Many players will be pleased, as they have long wished for it.
This was found for the new quest day with Picochilla
These quests could come: In detail, 16 field researches have been found, all starting with “Picochilla Research”. They are likely intended for such an event:
- Use 3 berries when catching Pokémon
- Catch X Normal-type Pokémon
- Catch a Nagelotz or Bidiza
- Catch a Pikachu, Plusle, or Minun
- Catch a Rattfratz or Wiesor
- Evolve X Normal-type Pokémon
- Battle in a gym
- Land X curveballs
- Land X great throws
- Land X great throws in a row
- Land X good throws
- Land X good throws in a row
- Battle in a raid
- Defeat a Team GO Rocket Grunt
- Spin X PokéStops
- Use a very effective charged attack in a gym battle
How does such an event work? During a certain period, you will find a special event quest at each PokéStop. This usually includes the event Pokémon, so in this case, Picochilla. Accordingly, Pokémon that are somehow related will spawn in the wild.
What does this suggest about the event? It seems that the limited research will likely revolve around Normal-type Pokémon. Monsters like Wiesor or Bidiza are all Normal-type. This also fits with Picochilla, as it has exactly this type.
Many of the possible event Pokémon are also available in their shiny versions.
What kind of Pokémon is Picochilla? The Normal-type Pokémon has the evolution Chillabell. You can only get this in Pokémon GO with the help of the Einall Stone.
Chillabell does not play a significant role in Pokémon GO. It has weak stats and attacks.
Could there be shiny Picochilla? Nothing has been found regarding this yet. However, it is quite conceivable. After all, every Pokémon from the limited research has been catchable as shiny directly at the event so far.
Hints of Community Day with Plinfa
This was found by dataminers: In addition to the quests surrounding Picochilla, dataminers also found a quest that says “Catch X Plinfa”. This is likely intended for the Community Day.
So far, there has been no confirmation that there will be a Community Day with Plinfa, but the assumption was obvious. Now there is the next hint for the event this month.
