How does the auction house work? To put an item in the auction house, you either need the rare, tradable version of it or you transform your equipment into an extraction. However, in our research on the marketplace, we could only find one example of the “Crystalline Staff of Talus” with the property “Chance for strong attack,” which was actually sold for 12,000 Luzent. This equates to about 200 €.
Can you fully equip yourself with real money? Yes, that’s theoretically possible. However, in practice, the prices are so high that players will likely have a hard time equipping a character solely through the auction house.
Such complete equipment can cost thousands, if not over 10,000 €, depending on which build is played and what items are needed for it. Many play the game like normal games and additionally buy improvements for their character with real money.
Do you have an advantage with the equipment? While much in Throne and Liberty revolves around PvP, having good equipment does not grant a huge advantage. The game focuses heavily on “Guild vs. Guild” battles, where individual players with the perfect equipment likely do not make a significant difference. It is more important that the group as a whole is well equipped.
