In the forum, the developers of the MMORPG Astellia announced new content for the remainder of 2019. Among this content, in addition to Avalon, there will be a completely new endgame area that is set to be released exclusively in the West.
What kind of area is this? The new map “Miodan Mine” is set to appear in Astellia in December. It is an endgame zone for level 50 players. The area is supposed to bring the following content:
- New effects
- Story quests
- Special treasure rewards for completion
The special thing about the map is that it has not existed in the Korean version so far. It will be released exclusively for the West. Westley Connor, CEO of the publisher Barunson E&A, says:
This mining area is a completely new zone for level 50 players that does not originate from the Korean or any other version of Astellia – we will be the first to experience this zone. [..]
Typically, Western versions of games that were originally released in another region fall behind in their content, but we do not want that for Astellia.
Is the map even coming to Korea? Currently, we only know that Miodan Mine will be released first in the West. When and if it will even come to Korea is not yet known.
November already brings Avalon
What else is happening this year in Astellia? In the same forum post, Westley Connor spoke about Avalon, the large PvP area. It is already highly anticipated and many were hoping for its release last week.
Connor promises that Avalon is set to open in November. Concrete information about it should be available later this week.
For 2019, a Christmas event and the release of another Astel are also planned. Last week, Ignagon, a Guardian Astel, was already released.
What has happened in Astellia since release? There has been a relative calm around the MMORPG lately, even though regular updates and expansions have been released:
- At the beginning of October, the first major update with class expansions was released.
- Three days later, a new server in Europe was launched.
- Also in October, it was announced that there will be increased action against bots and gold sellers.
- From October 22 to November 5, the Halloween event took place.
- On November 7, legendary dungeons and a new Astel were released.
On the other hand, there were also two controversies surrounding Astellia:
- At the end of October, the PvP area Avalon accidentally opened. The developers banned players who had entered the area, from trading for several days.
- There were also discussions about the rewards from different game versions.
