Starfield gifts you a lot of loot on many missions. While other players have to earn their items, some stumble upon puddles full of loot. We show you the find and explain why this phenomenon is already 11 years old.
What has a player found? The Reddit user Heretic0 has come across an interesting find in Akila City. Somewhere on the muddy paths of the city, there is a puddle full of loot. If you kneel down in the mud, you can score ammunition, consumables, Digidietriche, and much more.
While this puddle looks like a bug, it is actually intentional by Bethesda – not because the developers want to gift you, but because you are accessing a system that you normally should not have access to.
Are you looking for a way to earn money quickly? Here we have a video for you:
The trick has existed since Skyrim
Where can I find the puddle? You can find the puddle in Akila City in front of the store “Sherperd’s General Store”. Kneel down in the puddle and use your crosshair to scan the water until you come across the box “Emerson Sherperd – Supplies”. Now you can claim all the items that are in this “invisible” box.
Here we have embedded the video with the find again, so you can find it quickly:
What is this trick about? Anyone who knows Bethesda and its older games should see through this trick, as it is clearly a vendor chest.
For those who are not familiar with the system: Vendor chests are used by Bethesda for various vendors in their games. Whether in Skyrim or now in Starfield, every vendor in the open world has a vendor chest where all the offered goods are stored.
These chests are linked to the vendor’s inventory. When you buy or sell items, you can find them in these special chests. However, it is important to know that these containers are deliberately hidden so that no players can access them.
Usually, the developers pack the chests underground, where no one can reach them without cheats. This way, you cannot apply tricks like buying things and then afterward retrieving your gold or credits from the chest.
Despite this “precaution”, there are chests that are not buried deep enough under the game world. Just like in the case of Heretic0, you can then access this chest simply by kneeling down and grab the items without any consequences.
Can this trick cause problems? Since the items in the vendor shops are constantly updated when enough time has passed, nothing bad can happen. So you can constantly empty the chests at certain intervals and benefit from the additional loot source. However, be warned, you could ruin your enjoyment of the game.
What do you think of the trick? Did your Skyrim memories come back, or were you not aware of the trick at all? Let us know in the comments!
