The event for the second anniversary of Monster Hunter World is in full swing. Among the rewards is a hammer that will leave you drooling.
In Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, there’s a lot going on right now. The birthday event brings many tasks. During the “Grand Appreciation Fest,” both the Fest der Dankbarkeit and the new Astral Fest are active. Additionally, there are many other event quests, one of which rewards you with an interesting hammer.
A Delicious Weapon – the Thigh Slapper
What kind of weapon is this? For the meat fans in front of their screens, Capcom has come up with something special for the latest event. You can farm a hammer shaped like a meat joint. The weapon is called Premium Thigh Slapper (Well-done Hammer) and the upgraded version is called Ultimate Thigh Slapper (Juicy Well-done Hammer).
Whether you find it tasty or not, the weapon is definitely special. It bears the emblem of Monster Hunter World, and at one point, a bit of the more or less crispy-looking skin is hanging down.
What can the hammer do? Even the first level comes with a lot of attack power. Unfortunately, the 1404 points are overshadowed by merely blue sharpness. The upgraded Ultimate Thigh Slapper has even 1612 attack and can compete with level-12 weapons like the Mähnentücke from Rajang.
Since the meat hammer has level 11, you can install more augmentations than with level 12 weapons. If you are bothered by the lack of sharpness, you can take a closer look at some skills. These include mainly “Craftsmanship” or “Quick Sharpening.”
An Event Quest Grants You the Meat Hammer
It is quite simple to get your hands on this meaty pleasure. You just need to complete the event quest “Meat, Meat, Meat, …” There you will face a Volcano Odogaron and a Glavenus.
You should prepare for quick attacks on one side and brutal blows on the other. More about the strengths and weaknesses of the two beasts can be found in our Monster List of Iceborne. There you will also find all the materials you can get from them.
These are the required materials: If you succeed, you will receive 1-2 Meat Meal Tickets. For the Premium Thigh Slapper, you need two of them and also materials from the two monsters:
- 2x Meat Meal Ticket
- 2x Volcano Odogaron Hard Fang
- 3x Volcano Bursa
- 8x Monster Fest Bones
If you want to upgrade it to the Ultimate Thigh Slapper, you need materials that you can get in the Guiding Lands. Where exactly you can find which bone and which ore is explained in our List of Guiding Lands Materials.

- 5x Forest Crystal
- 3x Sleeping Large Bone
- 3x Infested Frenzy Bone
