On the weekend, a kebab shop opened in Hamburg: “Honest Kebab” by Holle21614, a well-known German food influencer. The crowd at the Europapassage was enormous, especially since there was both a kebab for €9.50 inside the shop and a kebab for 1 cent in street sales. But as a “regular” person, one needed patience.
This is the situation: The YouTuber Holle21614 is one of the biggest fast food testers in Germany. His most successful videos have titles like “I found the best kebab in Germany,” “Huge queues at the launch of the €3 Aldi kebab,” or “The best kebab in the world.”
Like many YouTubers, he enjoys collaborating with other influencers to achieve synergy effects and reach new audience groups. He can be seen alongside MontanaBlack, the heroic AbuGoku, Bernd Zehrer, and many other fast food connoisseurs.
For several weeks now, influencer Holle21614 has been promoting his own kebab “Honest Kebab.” The story behind it is: Holle has tested so many kebabs that with all his experience, he is opening a shop in Hamburg where there should be an incredibly good kebab.
MontanaBlack occasionally treats himself to vegetarian fast food:
Extremely long queue in front of the kebab shop
That was the event: The opening of his shop took place this past Sunday, April 6, on a sales Sunday.
In the Europapassage, Holle sold his normal kebab for €9.50. In street sales, the kebab was available for 1 cent.
This attracted such a long queue that the videos of the waiting people seemed absurdly long. People stood there for up to 8 hours to get a cheap kebab.
MeinMMO author Johanna Heuck gave up after about four hours out of frustration because, according to her quite annoyed-sounding statements, she was overwhelmed by a horde of students and influencers kept cutting in line.
Golden card for influencers, frustration for customers without connections
How could influencers cut the line? Influencers apparently did not have to wait in line, but received a golden card that guaranteed them access to the coveted meat supply.
Moreover, according to eyewitness reports, people who stood at the front of the queue let their friends in, leading to frustration for the hungry ordinary citizens.
No golden card was surely given to “The Militant Vegan”: She used the event for a protest against the “murder meat stall.”
That it was a kind of meeting of the German influencer scene can be seen from the fact that IRL streamer Adam “SklyineTV” was at the event and took a jab at the BILD newspaper.
With all sympathy: The €9.50 that Holle charges for a kebab completely throws the whole price arithmetic of games on Steam out of balance. In fact, numerous headlines for game recommendations now need to be adjusted; the real problem is: For the price of a kebab, you can currently get 100 hours of the best role-playing game content on Steam
