When will there finally be information about microtransactions in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare? Infinity Ward has now revealed when they will address one of the biggest concerns of fans.
What are the concerns about? Among the biggest worries and question marks of many players regarding Modern Warfare 2019 are the microtransactions – or rather the current state of information. Details about them are currently scarce. The ongoing silence is viewed by the community as worrying and a bad sign.
The game offers, in the eyes of fans, quite a number of possibilities for so-called MTX – for example with skins for the operators. And it is practically certain that these will come. However, there is still no official information about them, neither in terms of form nor scope or cost.
Players therefore do not know what to expect, and that is exactly what is causing many fans headaches, especially in light of the widely criticized microtransaction policy in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and other predecessors. Fans would like to know in advance what they are getting into when purchasing the latest installment of the series.
In a Reddit post, some users therefore urged the developers at Infinity Ward to address the microtransactions in Modern Warfare 2019 and finally provide clarity.
When do the developers want to talk about it? In response to this request, Infinity Ward has now reacted and answered in the relevant thread on Reddit.
Ashton Williams, the Senior Communication Manager at Infinity Ward, said: “Please be patient. We hear you. We will share more with you as the launch approaches.”
It seems that the developers want to talk about the microtransactions before the release of the title. This news has pleased some fans, as many users did not expect that the developers would even address and respond to this issue.
What is the problem with microtransactions in Call of Duty? The microtransaction policy in the latest installments of the series, especially in Black Ops 4, is criticized by many fans as aggressive and almost omnipresent. For example, Black Ops 4, as a full-priced title, has more microtransactions than many free-to-play titles despite having a paid season pass.
What concerns many fans, especially regarding the ongoing silence about the MTX of Modern Warfare, is: The complete extent of the microtransactions in Black Ops 4 was also hardly communicated and only became clear after release and the reviews. Moreover, the system has gradually been expanded over time. Many players fear that this will also happen with the reboot of Modern Warfare and therefore demand corresponding information from the developers.
It remains to be seen whether the concerns of the fans can be addressed with the promised information prior to the launch.
