In the fantasy MMORPG Black Desert, not only cat lovers rejoice, as the second pet type brought in by Pearl Abyss is man’s and giant’s best friend: dogs.
In the Korea MMO Black Desert, three cats meow for players in a competition. This makes some gameplay videos seem a bit meowy. So it seems Pearl Abyss thought there needed to be a counterbalance, introducing three dogs as pets.
Just like cats, they can rummage through corpses and carcasses for loot, but they also serve an additional function in combat against other players. These are trained hunting dogs that can detect if another player is hostile toward their owner, and they are also presumably useful against stealthy players. The dogs level up, too, if fed properly.
