In the world of Gachiakuta, a new anime on Crunchyroll, people are classified into two categories: The protagonist Rudo ends up in the one that is thrown away like “garbage.” The reactions to the new trailer suggest that there is a real summer hit waiting for us.
What kind of anime is it? Gachiakuta is a new anime series based on a manga by Kei Urana. The main character is a boy named Rudo, who has been ostracized by society and is therefore very, very angry.

Here comes the garbage man
What is Gachiakuta about? In Germany, the manga series has the subtitle “Thrown Away Like Trash”, which captures the essence of the story very well.
- The world of Gachiakuta is a two-class society: The rich live in abundance while the outcasts live in poverty in the filthy slums.
- The boy Rudo is the son of a notorious criminal and is treated as an outcast by the wealthy society as his descendant.
- One day he is sentenced for a murder he did not commit. Consequently, he is thrown down the abyss along with the rest of the garbage.
At the bottom of the abyss, other outcasts are waiting. However, from the garbage that the rich have carelessly thrown into the abyss, dangerous garbage monsters have also emerged. The answer of the people to this danger is the so-called “Cleaners” – garbage men. Their task is to fight the garbage monsters.
Among the Cleaners are also people with special abilities: Those who can bring objects to life and unleash their powers. They are called “Givers,” and Rudo is one of them.

The anime has definite hit potential: It is produced by Studio Bones, which has also produced anime series like Fullmetal Alchemist and My Hero Academia. Looking at the fans’ reactions, we can expect a very good adaptation of the manga.
