An English company announced lavish gold and platinum versions of the PS5 some time ago. Now, the price and availability of the gold and platinum console are known. However, those who want to buy it will need luck and a lot of money.
What is it about? The British company Truly Exquisite is known for offering flashy luxury versions of everyday items. There are already gold-plated smartphones for 5,000 euros or sneaker shoes adorned with sparkling Swarovski crystals. So those with money who want to flaunt their wealth belong to the target audience of Truly Exquisite.
But all these luxury items pale in comparison to the company’s new flagship. As announced a few weeks ago, Truly Exquisite plans to offer extremely expensive luxury versions of the upcoming PS5 console.

How much does the flashy PS5 cost? Truly Exquisite offers the luxury PS5 in three versions:
- 24-Carat Gold Digital PS5: The “cheapest” version of the console costs “only” £7,999 (€8,859.93). If you want it as a disc version, you’ll have to add another £100 (€110.76).
- 18-Carat Rose Gold Digital PS5: The version made of reddish gold is priced at £8,099 (€8,970.70), which is slightly more expensive. Again, the disc version costs another £100 more.
- Platinum Digital PS5: The most expensive version of the flashy PS5 costs a hefty £8,199 (€9,081.46) and here too you can add £100 for the disc version.
What do I get for my money? If you really want to afford these expensive devices, you at least get a complete PS5 console, with an option for a disc version at an extra cost. Additionally, you also receive 2 DualSense controllers as well as a 3D Pulse headset. The controller and headset also come in the matching finish.
The controller and headset are also available separately for £649 and £399, respectively.
All of this comes in an elegant wooden box. And if you’re already spending around €9,000 for a console, Truly Exquisite at least spares you the worldwide shipping fees and even covers the insurance of the precious product. It would be unfortunate if the gold PS5 fell overboard while crossing the English Channel…
How can you buy it? The golden PS5 will be released – like the regular console – only at the end of 2020. However, the luxury edition can be pre-ordered. This starts on September 10 at 16:00 our time.
If you really belong to those people who want to afford such a console, then you should promptly pre-order the luxury PS5 of your choice on Truly Exquisite’s website, as the company has stated that they will only produce each version exactly 250 times. Then it’s done, and it seems there will never be such a version of the PS5 again.
