In Solo Leveling, protagonist Jin-woo receives the quest to level up to become the strongest hunter while improving his stats. A fan has come up with a particularly funny parody, in which he takes a completely different route.
What is the parody about? Sister Leveling is a fan-made version of the anime Solo Leveling. On the channel of Anime Boiis, there are several seasons of this version. With each new season, there is another person who worships Jin-woo.
The most famous YouTube video of the parody is the very first one. It is a 9-minute video in which Jin-woo’s sister falls in love with him. The protagonist receives a quest window, allowing him to take a new route. If he fails to complete the tasks, he faces the death penalty.
By mistake, Jin-woo takes the steps of the stepsister route. This suddenly makes his sister Sung Jin-ah hopelessly in love with him, believing she is merely his stepsister. Since they are not blood-related, a legal relationship between them could potentially arise, in her view.
During the nine minutes, his sister tries clumsily to seduce her brother. She uses phrases like “Feel free to raid my dungeon” or “If I win the race, we can continue the workout in my room.”
Interactions between the two siblings, which are completely harmless in the anime, are suddenly filled with erotic innuendos. Jin-woo’s physical transformation in the anime evokes particular feelings in Jin-ah in the parody.
Funny parody keeps evolving
What do fans love about it? The first video of the series currently has over 5.9 million viewers. It has garnered over 194,000 likes in the past seven months.
In the comments, it becomes clear what the viewers enjoy most about the videos. There are many quotes from the video that fans find hilarious. User darthsacul3940 even believes that Sister Leveling is one of the best anime parodies he has seen since the Abridged version of Sword Art Online.
The fan version Sister Leveling is at least a little treat until the anime continues officially. Currently, it is unfortunately not even known, if and when there will be a season 3.
