The new callers of the Dracthyr in WoW: Dragonflight can switch between a dragon form and a humanoid appearance. This can even happen automatically with a special ability and provides enormous advantages – especially when leveling or conquering dungeons.
What is this ability? Like Worgen, Dracthyr have two forms they can switch between. Chosen Identity transforms you automatically into your visage form whenever you are not in combat or currently using the ability Glide.
You obtain the ability along with the visage itself upon completing the introductory campaign of the Dracthyr, which you can play since Phase 2 of the pre-patch on November 16. Furorion or Evoker explain the spell to you in a short quest.
Why is “Chosen Identity” so important? As long as you are in the visage form, you have a significantly increased health regeneration. It is so powerful that you might be able to forgo healing or food while traveling between two fights.
This is especially useful in dungeons or while leveling, where you might not always think about switching automatically (or simply don’t feel like it). However, you save yourself valuable time, mana from the healer, or simply gold, which in Dragonflight is not easy to come by anymore.

Chosen Identity helps you while leveling and in dungeons
If you want to level especially quickly as Dracthyr in Dragonflight after the release on November 29, Chosen Identity is almost a must. The feature saves you time and allows you to fight enemies nearly without a break when you have to run a short distance.
Note that there are already some issues that prevent you from using abilities. These are related to addons and can be easily fixed. Upon release, there will probably be similar issues at least in the first days.
Leveling in Dragonflight is incredibly fast, by the way. The leveling phase up to level 70 is supposed to take just over 3 hours if you utilize all possibilities. That’s about as long as the journey to level 60:
