The fifth matchday of the GSA League in Rainbow Six Siege ends with the most exciting match so far. And it will remain so for quite a while. If any of you wants to watch just one game, you should watch the match FACT against DIVIZON, which was the best pro match yet.
What kind of match is this? On June 11, the teams of the GSA League completed the matches of the fifth matchday. The highlight of the evening is the encounter FACT Gaming against DIVIZON.
Both teams are newcomer teams that previously qualified for participation in the league’s qualifier matches. Strictly speaking, they are (still) not professionals, although most experts give both a good chance of promotion.
The match was held last in the evening, and even the commentators call it the most exciting encounter that the GSA League has offered so far.
FACT vs. DIVIZON – This match you must see
Why is the match so good? Both FACT Gaming and DIVIZON played with full commitment – something that many of the pro teams like G2 Esports do not do, as their coach Sua openly admits.
The two teams are the only ones in the GSA League that have not yet made a name for themselves on a larger scale. Therefore, this confrontation is the most important game of the first half for both, as it will decide who is stronger.
In addition, it is a match at eye level. Both teams are about equally strong. There is hardly a difference in the skill of the individual players. Unlike most matches before, there has been no clear favorite ahead of the meeting. Commentator Shatter even hoped for a draw.
For the newcomers, it’s all on the line
The highlights of the match: In the entire match, there are strong plays from the aspiring professionals showing how well they master Rainbow Six Siege. KeTo and Daya from FACT Gaming, for example, shoot down an opponent’s C4 charge mid-air, saving their lives:
Especially in online matches, shooting C4 in the air is a great challenge because delays, such as ping, make hitting harder. It requires strong map knowledge and good assessment of the opponent as well as quick understanding. In this game, this happens even twice. The decisive round itself is another highlight, as DIVIZON shows their preparation for their opponents. By choosing an unexpected operator, they disrupt FACT’s plans and tactics, and win:
The DIVIZON player Benedikt “Shermi” Rostok later refers to this decision in the interview as important. The team planned to unsettle their opponents with this move and win. They only succeeded because they analyzed FACT beforehand.
This is how the match generally went: From the very first round, both teams are cautious, at the beginning even hesitant. Neither team takes big risks. Both teams attempt to secure the rounds for themselves safely instead of relying on risky tactics.
In the rounds themselves, there is almost always a balance between the kills – for almost every loss on one side, there is one on the opponents. This shows that the two teams are similarly strong.
The entire match is a proverbial cat-and-mouse game between two equally strong opponents. In the first seven rounds, DIVIZON scores a victory each time, and FACT catches up. Only in the seventh round can FACT gain an advantage for the first time.
However, DIVIZON immediately catches up to this advantage and shortly thereafter leads with 6:4 for the first time with two victories. FACT wins one more round, but there is no dramatic comeback like in the match against Rogue, and in the end, they lose narrowly with 7:5.

The previously weaker WarKidz have given the pros from G2 Esports a hard time, similar to what FACT did last week despite the loss. Otherwise, the matches have changed little on the table.

What comes next? There is already a tendency in the teams for the top positions and winners, but at the moment, the first halves are still being played. DIVIZON and FACT will meet again – presumably on matchday 12.
For both teams, every matchday remains important until then, as Shermi points out. He suggests that a small mistake or a bad day could be enough to make a difference for the two newcomers on the table. So the second half will probably be at least as important.
