Hytale brings its third major update for the pre-release and it changes quite a bit in the sandbox game. What you should know about the changes can be found here in our overview of the patch notes.
The key changes in update 3: The founder of the Hypixel studio has already listed on X what you can expect in update 3. The list is long, so we will now list the key changes for you. After that, you will also find a complete overview of all patch notes. But now let’s get to the most important content:
- New cosmetic items
- The new necromancy ability has received improvements
- New blocks and variations of them have been added
- The performance for world generation has been improved
- Map markers and sharing set markers have been added
Patch Notes for Update 3
The patch notes have been published in English. Therefore, we have manually translated the changes and listed the German version for you. Now let’s move on to the patch notes:
MAP & NAVIGATION
- User-placed map markers have been added!
- Create custom markers anywhere on your map with customizable names, symbols, and colors.
- Share markers with other players in multiplayer mode.
- New gameplay settings to toggle the visibility of markers on the map and the compass.
- Delete markers through the context menu of the map.
- The icons of the map markers have been updated and their display resolution improved.
- Player names will now always be displayed on the map and are more legible when zooming in.
- The compass now displays different icons depending on vertical distance (above/below you).
- The teleport option is now hidden for map markers in adventure mode.
COSMETICS & CUSTOMIZATION
- New avatar customization options:
- New hat: Tweed Hat
- New top: Mage Shirt
- New shoes: Fashionable Ballerinas, Wedge Shoes
- New color variants for fashionable shoes
- New haircut added
- Updated graphic for the haircut “Morning”
- Helmet added
BATTLE & ITEMS
- Weapon adjustments & bug fixes:
- Inconsistencies in damage values and upgrade differences between some weapon tiers have been adjusted.
- The stamina values for blocking attacks, which were previously misconfigured for certain weapons available only as loot, have been adjusted.
- All spear types should now be consistently stackable and throwable up to 5 times.
- Improvements to the Grimoire of Necromancy:
- Summons no longer take damage from their summoner (and vice versa).
- Summons now react when the player is attacked, not just when they attack.
- Summons are faster and more aggressive.
- The types of summoned skeleton minions have been expanded with a ranged variant.
- Other:
- The positioning of bars and sticks in hand has been improved.
GAMEPLAY
- Doors no longer close when they are blocked by objects or players.
- Teleporters now need to cover a short distance before they can be reused.
- The sorting key binding now works in the player’s inventory.
- The “Take All” function for processing workbench output items has been added.
- Items can now be quickly transferred between inventories by holding shift while dragging.
- Carts no longer move when they get stuck.
- The requirements for the farming bank for chicken coops have been reduced from 5 to 3.
- Blocks can now be placed on large Kweebec chests.
- A bug has been fixed that caused NPCs in a coop to turn into other NPCs.
- A bug has been fixed that allowed dead NPCs to be captured with the Capture Crate.
- The quick swap in the utility wheel has been redesigned and now also includes the inactive slot.
BLOCKS & WORLD
- Glowing volcanic rocks re-added
- New block textures and variants:
- Thorium Cracks
- Basalt Cracks
- Magma Cracks
- Dry Mud Cracks
- Updated crack variants for 4 ore blocks
- Updated cobalt texture
- Magma Adamantite block tiling corrected
- Weather configurations “Default_Flat” and “Default_Void” added for respective world instances
AUDIO
- Radius of the water emitter corrected, so audio is now properly played in stereo instead of just in the left ear.
- Fixed a bug where audio emitter entities were not played correctly.
- Fixed a bug that caused liquid ambient effects not to trigger properly.
- Updated sounds for swinging and hitting with swords.
USER INTERFACE AND USABILITY
- The key binding displays for container actions have been moved to a better position.
- The tooltips for the key binding of chests/banks have been corrected when no key binding is assigned.
- The text for the connection radius of the workbench chest has been updated for clarity.
SECURITY
- A circumvention of permissions in the asset editor has been fixed, which allowed unauthorized JSON asset changes to non-standard asset packages (already patched in release builds).
STABILITY AND BUG FIXES
- Improved performance in world generation
- Fixed an issue where fill blocks were not destroyed in some cases (e.g., large doors)
- Fixed erroneous predictions in block placement
- Fixed issues with switching worlds while riding:
- Fixed a bug that did not correctly remove the status of minecart riding
- Fixed a bug that did not correctly delete the status of horse riding
- Fixed issues with screen fades that might occur during world transfers
- Fixed a problem that could lead to a deadlock when saving chunks when removing a world
Can I test the update already? Yes. To do this, please follow these steps:
- Open your launcher
- Go to settings
- Enable “Pre-Release”
