In Taiwan, a husband tried to pass off his new PS5 as a fan so that his wife wouldn’t notice. However, she caught on to the deception and forced the man to sell the coveted console. Read the whole story here on MeinMMO.
What happened? The Taiwanese gamer and Facebook user Jin Wu managed to obtain a PlayStation 5 despite the shortage. However, he had to pick it up personally from the man selling it privately.
On the phone, he was in contact with a woman who, in his opinion, “didn’t sound like a person who plays video games.” But the price was very reasonable, so Jin Wu decided to pick up the PS5 in person.
When he arrived, he was greeted by a middle-aged guy who, according to Jin Wu, looked much more like a gamer. When asked where he bought the PS5, the man gave a reply, but Jin Wu was puzzled.
“You seem to have a good business sense. Did you order two? Why else would you be selling your PS5?”
Wife knows the difference between a fan and a console
Why did the man have to sell the PS5? Full of bitterness and sadness, the man supposedly told Jin Wu the whole truth behind the PS5 sale.
“My wife is selling the console,” the man confessed. “She knows the difference between a PS5 and a standing fan.”
Apparently, the husband wanted to keep his wife from knowing he wanted to buy an expensive new console. Since she obviously didn’t want such a device in the house, the man came up with the “clever” idea to pass it off as an extravagant standing fan.
After all, the PS5 had already been mocked in various ways after the official announcement of its design due to its appearance, including that it looked like a kind of fan.
The man probably hoped that his wife was not very tech-savvy and therefore wouldn’t know that the “fan” was actually a console. But that was apparently not the case, and the angry wife then forced the man to sell his console as soon as possible.
If you still want a PS5, there may be good news for you here:
This is how the community reacts: Jin Wu posted this curious case on Facebook and received almost 7,000 reactions and over 1,000 comments. Some of them include:
- A user reports that a friend of hers also has a wife who wants him to sell the PS5.
- Other users took the opportunity to express their generosity towards their partners, saying, “Look how good I am to you!”
- Other users expressed solidarity with the man, saying, “Brother, buy some beer and sit down, I’ll hide your PS5.”
Others also linked to a viral comic video from South Korea, where a man tries to convince his wife that a console is actually a router.
What do you think about this? Does the man deserve to sell his PS5? After all, he tried to deceive his wife intentionally and thought she was too dumb to tell a console apart from a fan. Or is the wife cruel and mean by not allowing her husband to enjoy the PS5 that he was lucky to get despite the delivery difficulties?
