In 2017, the MMORPG Arcfall entered Early Access. However, it wasn’t well received by MeinMMO readers. Now, more than 3 years later, let’s see what has become of the title.
What is Arcfall? The sandbox MMORPG emphasizes community interaction, as every player should be an important part of the economy. While you explore the vast world, you gather resources and craft essential items for other players to sell. Additionally, you experience exciting adventures by fighting against monsters. PvP and guild wars are also important.
Arcfall has no classes. You can freely improve your hero based on skills. You can even acquire your own house and decorate it according to your ideas.
The current status of the MMORPG Arcfall
How did the game resonate with you? When we introduced Arcfall in May 2017, your reactions on MeinMMO were as follows:
- Longard wrote: “Brazen Albion Online clone. Might as well sue immediately.”
- Nirraven commented: “The gameplay doesn’t look that great.”
- Andy Boultgen thought: “This is going into EA and will stay there forever.”
He wasn’t entirely wrong, as even today, in December 2020, Arcfall is still in Early Access.
What is the current status of the game? In terms of player numbers, the MMORPG currently does not look good according to Steamcharts. The Early Access version on Steam had only 2.9 concurrent players in the past 30 days. The peak was at 9 players.
The ratings on Steam are currently at 58% “Mixed.”.
The release, which was initially planned for late 2020, will happen later. When, the developers cannot say yet. However, it is planned to definitely release Arcfall. Over the years, there have also been updates with new content.
These include:
- more quests
- instanced housing instead of building houses in the open world
- the ability to quickly switch tools
- seasonal dungeons and more
Further features are also planned. This includes giving players access to kingdoms where they can settle and further develop them. Additionally, players are expected to receive their own dungeons.
Arcfall still has a future, and we hope that players will give the MMORPG a chance.
