In Pokémon GO, there is a surprising development on the way to level 50. Some players were affected by a bug, causing them to automatically land at level 49.
This is what happened: Just last night, on January 24th, some trainers reached level 48 in Pokémon GO. In the middle of the night, there was then a glitch in the game. The progress of several hours was suddenly reset. The tasks already completed for level 49 were deleted.
However, the problem only affected a few regions of the world, as the Adventure Sync rewards, which were essential for ascending to level 48, were already available there.
Affected players can now be pleased. Some players confirmed that they were automatically set to level 49, even though they had not yet completed the tasks for level 48.

All tasks for level 50 in Pokémon GO
These tasks you must complete: In total, there are again 4 tasks that you need to solve. Once you have accomplished this and also collected 30 million XP, you will reach level 50. The tasks are:
- Land 999 excellent throws
- Catch 5 legendary Pokémon within 5 legendary raids
- Defeat a Team GO Rocket boss 3 times using only Pokémon with 2500 CP or less
- Reach rank 10 in the GO Battle League
However, there are still some inconsistencies with the last task. There is a screenshot that speaks of rank 10 in the PvP League. Another image claims that rank 20 is needed.
This now means for level 50: Some trainers are close and could reach level 50 very soon. If one puts in the effort, the first trainer should be at level 50 by tonight.
However, only a few players from Australia are affected. Players in Europe who have already reached level 48 did not receive the free step to level 49.
