One of the major features of the next expansion of World of Warcraft will be player housing, also known as “Player Housing.” This is something that has been longed for by the community and Blizzard is finally delivering. Although many details are still unknown, we have summarized all the information that has been published so far in a concise manner.

Housing in WoW – What is known
When will housing be released? The roadmap for 2025 indicates that housing is expected to be released in winter 2025. A realistic date would thus be November or December 2025. This would mean that the pre-patch for the next expansion “Midnight” will be released at the same time.
How extensive will housing be? Not much is known yet. So far, it is only clear that there will be different locations or styles for the houses. Therefore, you won’t have to use a human house like in the teaser trailer; you can also use house designs from other races.
However, it is clear to Blizzard: housing is the largest, most ambitious feature ever.
Will housing be accessible to everyone directly? That is still unclear. A common theory is that housing will be made available as a pre-order feature only to those players who pre-order Midnight. However, this is also just community speculation looking back at previous addon features that were made available early (like demon hunters).
What will housing cost? The cost of a home in World of Warcraft is still unknown – or whether gold or any other currency will be required at all.
Will housing be monetized? This is also still unknown. It is possible that certain elements of housing could end up in the shop, but there is currently no reliable information regarding this.
How long have the developers been working on housing? The developers actually began intensively focusing on housing and planning how to implement this feature back in 2019. With the expansion Midnight, it seems the time has finally come to unleash the houses on the heroes of Azeroth.
