Dehaka – a Primal Zerg on a Hunt
With the next patch, the hero roster of Blizzard’s MOBA “Heroes of the Storm” is getting a fresh addition. This time, a character from StarCraft 2 joins the fray in the Nexus, as the Primal Zerg Dehaka enters the battlefield. The voracious creature, for whom change and evolution are the most important aspects of life, was a key character during the “Heart of the Swarm” campaign and assisted Kerrigan in her crusade against Emperor Mengsk. Now the Primal Zerg, who will be a warrior in HotS, has received his own “Spotlight” video highlighting his features.
Let’s take a look at Dehaka’s abilities:
- The passive ability Essence Collection allows Dehaka to collect essence from slain minions and heroes. At the press of a button, this essence is consumed to restore a portion of his HP.
- With Burrow, Dehaka can burrow into the ground for a short time and become immune to damage. He is in a “Stasis” state and is thus immune to all control effects – but cannot attack.
- The Dark Swarm creates a deadly aura around Dehaka that deals damage to all enemies in close proximity. At the same time, Dehaka is immune to enemy collision checks and can simply “walk through them”.
- With Pull, Dehaka extends his tongue and can momentarily “pull” enemies to a new position.
- The first heroic ability Isolation inflicts a hero with various negative effects. They are slowed, silenced, their vision radius is dramatically reduced, and they can no longer see their allied teammates.
- The second heroic ability Adaptation restores a large portion of damage taken after 5 seconds, making it a powerful self-heal.
It is also important that Dehaka does not have a mount. Instead, he can burrow to any bush or vent on the map every 40 seconds using Jungle Prowler, regardless of its location.
