The Pokémon GO app fulfilled a promise in the summer of 2016 that we were given as children. Instead of controlling a trainer, we can now be a Pokémon trainer ourselves thanks to augmented reality. Since then, millions of people have been roaming around with their smartphones, hunting pocket monsters, trying to catch and train them. The interaction with the real world and other people, the Pokémon cult, the collecting fever, and the mobile boom have made Pokémon GO a mass phenomenon and one of the most interesting trends of recent years.
