Soon the 3rd Hyperbonus will start in Pokémon GO and it is still not known which Pokémon will be the focus of this event. MeinMMO author Franzi Korittke explains why she thinks it’s the right time for a release with Hoopa.
When does the 3rd Hyperbonus start? The 3rd Hyperbonus starts on August 20, 2021 at 10:00 AM and ends on August 31, 2021 at 8:00 PM local time.
What is the problem? At the Pokémon GO Fest 2021, participating trainers had the opportunity to solve global challenges and earn additional events. They succeeded, which is why the 1st Hyperbonus is currently taking place. This revolves around the theme of “time”.
Starting August 6, the 2nd Hyperbonus will begin, which focuses on the theme of “space”. For both events, the focus was communicated early and trainers could guess which legendary monsters would be waiting for them in the raids.
Unlike the first two Hyperbonus events, Niantic has not disclosed any information so far about the 3rd Hyperbonus. Everything is still strictly secret, leading to many speculations about this event. Alongside the creator Pokémon Arceus, some trainers suspect a release of Hoopa.
The ideal time to finally release Hoopa
I, Franzi from MeinMMO, have been playing Pokémon GO daily for almost two years and will show you why a release of Hoopa during the 3rd Hyperbonus would be the perfect timing from my perspective.
That’s why the event fits perfectly: There is currently only little information available about the 3rd Hyperbonus, which was earned during the GO Fest 2021. Since it is linked to the GO Fest, I could imagine that Niantic intends to release a monster that was also a theme of this event.
One Pokémon played a central role on that day, but could not be caught: the mysterious Pokémon Hoopa. Pokémon GO made repeated references to this event. For instance, it was responsible for the countless legendary raids on the second event day.
Additionally, after the first event day, Niantic adjusted the loading screen and integrated Hoopa into it. In the past, Pokémon that appeared in the loading screen were also released in the game shortly thereafter. This could be observed with Feelinara, for instance. So it could be an indication that Hoopa is finally coming to the game.
Does it thematically fit as well? Yes, thematically Hoopa can also be aligned with Dialga and Palkia. These two cause changes in the time and space phenomena during the 1st and 2nd Hyperbonus. And Hoopa also addresses the themes of time and space in a certain way. It can transport things from one place to another using its rings.
All of these criteria indicate that, in my view, the perfect time for a release of Hoopa would be the event for the 3rd Hyperbonus. Which Pokémon will actually be found in the last Hyperbonus remains to be seen. As soon as Niantic provides new information, you will find out here, on MeinMMO.
