Elden Ring is pretty much exactly what you get when the creators of the famous Soulsborne games and the author of Game of Thrones release a game together – which is exactly what has happened here.
The game delivers what you would expect from Souls games: tough battles, tons of deaths, and a story so convoluted that you won’t understand it without a wiki. Unlike its spiritual predecessors, however, here you have an open world, a horse to traverse it, and a native coop mode.
George R. R. Martin, the creator of “A Song of Ice and Fire,” worked on the story of Elden Ring, one of the reasons why the game is so highly praised.
FromSoftware, the studio behind Elden Ring, is known for dark worlds and sometimes very grotesque enemy designs. You can expect exactly that from Elden Ring. With Shadow of the Erdtree, Elden Ring has already received its first story DLC with new bosses and areas.
