Belegar Eisenhammer
Belegar is somewhat like the Thorin Oakenshield of the Warhammer world. Just as the King of the Dwarfs from Tolkien’s Middle-earth is, Belegar is an exiled king trying to reclaim the homeland of his ancestors – Karak Eight Peaks. He even possesses a “Arkenstone,” though Belegar’s oathstone is a rock inscribed with runes that he picked up from the shattered remains of his ancestors’ tombs.
King Lunn, an ancestor of Belegar, lost Karak Eight Peaks to a coalition of Orcs, Goblins, and Skaven, the vile ratmen of Warhammer. Since he declared himself king, Belegar has dedicated his life to reclaiming the city. Of all those who have tried, he has come the furthest.
His quest to reclaim Karak Eight Peaks has made Belegar a master of underground warfare. Piece by piece, chamber by chamber, Belegar and his troops fight their way forward to eventually liberate the ancient city from the clutches of his enemies. In doing so, he and his soldiers often found themselves in besieged-like conditions where they fiercely resisted.
It is thanks to Belegar’s strong will that the Dwarfs of Clan Angrund have been able to re-establish themselves in their old homeland. He is thus an important figure for his clan.
