Lizards, the Snobbish Nobility of the World
What you might normally associate with elves can be found in the lizards, but even more extreme. The lizards believe themselves to be the descendants of dragons and have created a vast empire ruled by three houses.
This makes lizards generally rather snobbish, which is reflected in their very elevated language and culture. They keep slaves from the “lower” races (and their own) and generally see themselves as the crown of creation.
Lizards can be well compared to the nobility of medieval Europe, as things like royal successions, inheritances, and political marriages play a significant role.
Consequently, lizards are good at persuading others and in general in social and diplomatic interactions. They also rank among the best fighters, solely because their lineage allows them to spit fire – even as non-mages.
