Despite a new major update, Helldivers 2 has made a misstep with players. The first crossover has caused quite a bit of dissatisfaction. The prices of the content available only in the shop are too high for most fans. Now, Arrowhead apologizes and gifts players with new weapons and armor.
What happened? Helldivers 2 has received its first crossover. In honor of the Sony shooter series Killzone, there were contents that were only available through the Over-Shop, and the entire bundle cost nearly 20 €. Players were absolutely not satisfied with this, especially since it included a weapon and a quite powerful armor.
However, it seems that Arrowhead is taking the criticism to heart, as they have now announced that the second part of the collaboration will be distributed for free. If you log in now, you will receive multiple contents for free without having to do anything.

What do you get now as compensation? On reddit, Arrowhead made a lengthy post on December 19, 2024, discussing the current criticism. They are understanding of the criticism and offer the community a generous gift. The second part of the Killzone crossover will be distributed for free to players. The items include:
- The new submachine gun: -STA-11 SMG
- The new sniper rifle: -PLAS-39 Accelerator Rifle
- The new light armor: AC-2 Obedience (Grants 50% resistance against fire, gas, acid, and electrical damage)
- The new helmet: AC-2 Obedience
- The new cape: Defender of Our Dreams
All of this is, of course, in the style of the old Sony shooter. The Stratagem W.A.S.P. should also be unlockable soon via a general order.
In addition, they want to reduce the artificial pressure of the Killzone items in the store by extending the shop rotation from 5 to 10 days. Additionally, they want to explore how to bring the items back permanently in the future.
What does Arrowhead’s CEO, Shams Jorjani, say about the situation? On the official Discord server (via IGN), the CEO of Arrowhead also spoke out. He mentioned that they missed the exact point between content and price. He also stated that it was their fault, not Sony’s. Arrowhead was responsible for the pricing. Outside of this controversy, Helldivers has been doing quite well since the Game Awards: Helldivers 2 fulfills the community’s greatest wish, finally bringing the update they’ve been waiting for 10 months
