Healers and tanks are the unsung heroes of every MMO. While their fellow DPS players deal damage to their hearts’ content and worry only about optimal skill rotation and a bit of movement, healers and tanks have a thankless job. They must constantly pay attention to maintaining aggro from bosses and mobs or time their healing skills perfectly so that the tank or careless DPS heroes do not go down immediately.
If there’s an opportunity for healers and tanks to deal some DPS, they usually lack the equipment and the right skills for it. They have to settle for ineffective flailing.
November Update for SWL brings Quality of Life Features & “Elementalism”
The hard fate of healers and tanks may soon change in Secret World Legends. In a teaser for the upcoming November update, the developers at Funcom spoke about a major “Quality of Life” update, meaning new comfort features. According to many players, this could refer to an extra slot for DPS gear that tanks and healers can use to pack the big guns.
This would be a great blessing for many players, as they would not always have to painstakingly assemble a second set of gear from their inventory manually. Another topic of the upcoming update is “Elementalism,” about which Funcom remains silent for now. Perhaps there will be additional effects and skills for users of elemental magic?
