YouTuber HandOfBlood has fulfilled a big wish with his LoL team Eintracht Spandau. However, he wanted to do some things differently, including tackling the fast pace of e-sports. After a year, however, at least three players will be replaced. In a statement, he explains why this is happening.
What makes the team so special?
- Eintracht Spandau wants to do many things differently than traditional e-sports teams. In the announcement in November 2021, they emphasized that storytelling should take center stage and that a real fan culture like in football should develop.
- The goals of the team also include breaking the constant merry-go-round of player changes and working sustainably. Because for real identification, it is important to know the players and be interested in them.
- Meanwhile, a year has passed and Eintracht Spandau has taken on a significant role in the German LoL scene. But with the turn of the year, adjustments to the team’s roster are also coming.
Three professionals will leave Eintracht Spandau, and it’s still unclear what will happen with the other two. In a statement, HandOfBlood explained why these changes could not be avoided.

Various factors lead to changes, even if they want to avoid them
Which players will leave Eintracht Spandau? Three professionals have already announced their departure. The jungler Obsess, the AD carry Kynetic, and the supporter Prime are leaving the organization.
It is unclear whether the other two players will remain with Eintracht Spandau. All five players had been given permission to look for new teams at the end of the season.
What does Hänno say about the changes? In his statement, the YouTuber emphasizes that Eintracht Spandau wants to continue to work sustainably and promote identification with the players. After all, they managed to play with the exact same roster for a year.
But there are also factors that the organization always has to keep in mind:
- Eintracht Spandau has the ambition to compete in the EU Masters long-term. The roster must also reflect this.
- The dynamics in the team must be right. If personalities do not fit together, it is of no use to put them in a team.
- The players represent their own interests and also decide without the influence of the organization whether they want to switch.
- There is competition that offers better contracts, especially abroad. HandOfBlood emphasizes here that while they provide good infrastructure with apartments, offices, cooking, physiotherapy, and coaches, the salaries only rank in the mid-field of the Prime League.
As a team in the Europa League, they are also always somewhat of a training club. If a player becomes really good, they jump into the LEC, the highest European league.

What else does the president say? According to HandOfBlood, saying goodbye to the players was not easy. He and the rest of the organization grew very fond of them. He hopes that Eintracht Spandau develops a special culture of farewell:
Let us develop a culture of farewell for the current and all future Spandau legends that also accompanies them to their future havens and provides them with safety and support, as if they had never left the district borders of Spandau.

Such support is something these players have never experienced in their careers before. Something similar hasn’t existed in League of Legends esports so far, not even with KOI or Karmine Corp. Who will be the new players of Eintracht Spandau? There are currently many rumors about this, but the YouTuber emphasizes that these are just rumors. The official roster will be announced on the weekend of December 16-18 at DreamHack in Hanover.
