In Guild Wars 2 the elite specialization of the Thief has now been announced: The Daredevil wields a staff and is a true artist of evasion.
The Melee Master of Area Damage
With the expansion Heart of Thorns, all classes in Guild Wars 2 receive so-called elite specializations that significantly change the playstyle of the class and introduce exciting aspects. In addition to new weapons, there are numerous skills that not only look impressive but also affect the battlefield more than ever before. Now the elite specialization of the Thief has been announced: the Daredevil. In short, the staff master is capable of jumping rapidly across the battlefield, evading enemy attacks in various ways, and simultaneously executing devastating area attacks.
The Power of Evasion
Since Thieves traditionally do not have the best HP bars, they need to stay alive in other ways. What better way than precise and agile evasion at the right moment? To this end, the Daredevil can choose from three improved variants that make him even harder to catch in combat.
- The Lotus Training ensures that every evasion applies bleeding, torment, and cripple to nearby enemies – thus damaging and slowing them, allowing the Thief to escape unhindered.
- The Bouncing Evader transforms the normal evasion into a targeted jump that deals high damage at the impact location, making it useful for both attack and retreat.
- The upgrade Unhindered Fighter increases the range of the evasion roll and cleanses the Thief of cripple and chill effects, allowing him to push forward immediately.

Endless Tenacity
But these are not all the innovations that await the Daredevil. He will receive a wide repertoire of additional abilities that will allow him to participate in combat longer. With Channeling Elan, he will be able to regenerate health and endurance or use Palm Strike to stun the opponent and make him vulnerable to certain follow-up attacks.
Particularly noteworthy is the elite ability. This attack consists of 3 skills that first daze the opponent, then knock them down, and finally deal massive damage. If the enemy is already in a wounded state, he dies instantly.
Anyone who wants to see all the details about the Daredevil should read the official blog or already try it out next weekend during the second beta weekend of Heart of Thorns – at least if you have access.
