The developers of ArenaNet and publisher NCSoft have announced the new expansion “Visions of Eternity” for Guild Wars 2 MyMMO has all the info ready for you on what is known so far about the release, content and more.
What is Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity? On July 15, 2025, the latest expansion was unveiled. The new expansion of Guild Wars 2 is called “Visions of Eternity” and will be released in fall 2025. You can expect new elite specializations for all classes, new abilities for the Skimmer, fresh content, and new areas that call for adventures full of seafaring and wild magic.
When will Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity be released? The new expansion will come on October 28, 2025.
At what time does the expansion start? You can dive into the new adventure on the coasts of Castora starting at 5 PM CET (9 AM PDT).
How much will Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity cost and what versions are available? The expansion is expected to cost €24.99 for the standard version. In addition to the standard version, there will also be a Deluxe Edition (around €50) and an Ultimate Edition (around €75) that offer exclusive items. What content and features are already known? The following new content and features will be available at launch:
- 2 explorable maps/areas on the new island “Castora”
- 1 new elite specialization for each class, totaling 9 new options
- New abilities for your Skimmer including mastery path
- In total 3 new mastery paths
- A new location on the coast of Castora for your home
- New options to save, copy, share, and move your home and guild hall
- New legendary equipment in the form of two new legendary weapons as well as a ring, an accessory, and an aquatic breather
In later updates there will also be new raids and group content for 10 players where you can face instanced challenges in PvE.
What new elite specializations are coming in Visions of Eternity? The following new elite specializations are coming to Visions of Eternity:

- Antiquarian (Thief)
- Summoner (Elementalist)
- Lightbringer (Guardian)
- Medium (Revenant)

What updates will Visions of Eternity receive and when? Like its predecessor Janthir Wilds, Visions of Eternity is also set to receive three major content updates that will be released in 2026. These will again contain 2 more maps, new raids, a new fractal, new rewards, and 2 additional storyline arcs. More content is in planning.
Will there be new weapon types with Visions of Eternity? No, no new weapon will be introduced with Visions of Eternity.
Was there a beta? Yes, you could test the new elite specializations during a beta from August 20 – 27, 2025.
