What do I need to know about the new update? The new patch Reue was released on March 11, 2025, for Guild Wars 2, and the following highlight innovations await you:

Details about the Reue update for Guild Wars 2
What is Reue about? The new story chapter directly follows the end of the first patch Götterbrut: Your allies have just experienced the heroic battle against the Titans on Mount Balrior. Ura, Decima, and Greer are defeated.
However, you could not end the plague that threatens Janthir. Ura claimed after her death that the gate that brought the Titans to Tyria is still open. Additionally, a protective spell that previously kept Bava Nisos, the ruined city of the Mursaat, hidden from the rest of the world is said to have disappeared. There is said to be a foggate open there.
In Reue, you will delve into a 20-year-old mystery that was already hinted at in the first Guild Wars. Your search for answers will lead you to the new region of the Fogfire Wastes.
What can I expect in the Fogfire Wastes? Although hundreds of years have passed since the gate of Komalie was opened, the wasteland is still haunted by the remnants of the Mursaat experiments on spectral torment, and it is permeated by bloodstone magic and fogfire.
To explore this desolate landscape, the Tyrian Alliance has dispatched surveying teams to uncover the mysteries that are buried in the decaying corridors. You will be able to participate in three surveys:
- In the north, you will reactivate an inactive construct with which you will traverse a valley flooded with spectral torment.
- In the middle, you will deploy Asura golems to advance into an ancient library and investigate the fogfire that has spread across the Janthir Islands.
- In the south, you will lead a procession of members of the Tyrian Alliance into a laboratory that was once used for bloodstone sacrifices and experiments.
What about the new raid challenge? With the release of Reue, you can dive into the challenge mode for the raid “Mount Balrior.” The legendary mode for the final boss Ura is set to follow on March 25, 2025.
The convergence version of the raid will be expanded with the boss fight against Greer, the Plaguebringer.
What else is important? Originally, 6 relics were announced for the Reue update. However, twelve are now set to come into the game, including relics for pets. cutestuff4naynay comments on that on Reddit as follows: “A very pleasant surprise.”
New Twitch Drops
Starting March 11, you can earn exclusive Twitch Drops just by watching your favorite streamers play Guild Wars 2! Be present for a total of five hours between March 11 at 5 PM and March 17 at 7:59 AM to receive all available rewards.

Updates for World vs. World and PvP mode ‘Advance’
What is planned for PvP? The patch on March 11, 2025, also includes a gameplay comfort update that improves the visibility of WvW guild memberships. A new column on the second tab of the guild overview will then display an icon next to all players who have set this guild as their WvW guild. However, this information is only visible within the guild that you have personally selected as your WvW guild.
A second update will follow on March 25, optimizing the WvW reward system, resolving performance issues, and implementing player feedback. Improvements include:
- Adjustment of victory points and skirmish values to reassess progress and success in WvW.
- Consolidation of reward paths to improve accessibility.
- Improved acquisition of map currency through reward paths.
- A brand new WvW weapon set.
- New restrictions on Tactivator use for Fests and Castle Stone Fog.
- Adjustment of health points for fortress lords.
What about the PvP mode ‘Advance’? From May 20 to May 26, 2025, there will be another beta event for the new PvP mode. More details are expected shortly before.
