Episode 4 of the living story of Guild Wars 2 was supposed to start on February 7. However, a wild snowstorm at the developer location in Seattle ruined everything.
Those who had reserved the evening of February 7 for the exciting fourth episode of the living story in Guild Wars 2 likely got frustrated and turned to another game. Instead of aiding Queen Jennah in the fight against the white mantle, players were left waiting in vain. The update for the next episode simply wouldn’t come.
Blizzard was to blame!
The reason for the delay of the new episode was force majeure. The Seattle area in the USA, where developer ArenaNet is located, was afflicted by particularly severe snowstorms at the planned update time. The blizzard was so intense that there were mass power outages in the area.
Without power, servers can’t run, so ArenaNet had no choice but to sit in candlelight and do nothing. By the way, no improvement is in sight yet.
In the official Guild Wars forum, Communications Manager Gaile Gray apologizes for the inconvenience and will also notify when the servers are back up. You can find the post in the sources.
