In Destiny 2, diligent Guardians can easily and quickly farm their beloved Exotics thanks to the Lost Sectors. They can be farmed daily in the constantly rotating sectors. However, the loot luck of many Guardians in these sectors is so miserable that they even make jokes about it now.
What is the problem with the Lost Sectors? Bungie introduced the legendary Lost Sectors to give players the opportunity to specifically farm for exotic armor.
Before the legendary Lost Sectors, Exotics could only be obtained from random sources, but with the new feature, that was supposed to come to an end. Players are to hunt for their personal God-Roll armor on their own and with a higher probability.
However, this is not entirely true in practice. While the chance of receiving a new seasonal armor piece is high, if you wish to farm previously acquired Exotic armors, be prepared for a long dilemma.
Players mock their terrible luck
How bad are the drop rates for an Exotic? Your luck in these sectors can be so poor that you could farm for hours without even seeing an Exotic.
The reaction from reddit user Samatari22 accurately describes the despair of many Guardians.
The Guardian fought through a legendary Lost Sector solo to have a chance at an Exotic. However, when he opened the chest, he got: Nothing. Absolutely nothing, not even a little Glimmer or an enhancement core. You can almost see the three big question marks over his head as he looks deeper into the truly empty loot chest. Still nothing! He describes his video as “Crazy Loot” that he managed to snag today in the sector.
Reddit user IamLeoKim comments under the video that the true treasure is not the Exotics, but the friendship developed up to the chest. Other Guardians are simply mocking this unacceptable state.
Although Bungie wants to provide players with a reliable source to farm Exotics, it feels like you have less luck in these sectors compared to the Open World.
There was even a Guardian on reddit who claims that players leave the sector too quickly and therefore do not receive loot. In his recording, he proves how many Exotics one could potentially receive if they simply stayed longer at the sector chest.
However, this is meant ironically, as it is just a trick that works thanks to the Destiny Item Manager. While he stands at the chest, he simply shifts his old gear from his own vault to his Guardian, creating the illusion of an endless flood of Exotic drops.
Despite this, it is a problem that affects the entire Destiny 2 community. Many simply want to farm their favorite Exotic with a fitting distribution for their build, but to not be rewarded for hours of effort is seen by many Guardians as an outrage.
What do you think? Do you find the loot luck in the sectors to be balanced and well-designed, or does it also get on your nerves and should Bungie do more? Let us know in the comments.
