In GTA Online, players can collect JP. But what is that and what do JP bring? MeinMMO explains to you what it’s all about.
What are JP? JP stands for “Job Points”. You earn these points when you complete jobs in a playlist session in GTA Online. Whether you finish a deathmatch, a race or any other activity, at the end of such a round you receive a certain amount of job points.
The number of points you receive depends on your performance. So if you finish in 1st place at the end of a race or win a deathmatch, you get more points.
What is a playlist? In a playlist, you complete a specific list of jobs in succession. This can include five stunt races, eight time trials, and so on. Playlists can be created by players themselves or consist of random jobs.
JP show how good you are in a playlist
What do job points bring? Primarily, job points simply show how good you are in a playlist session. In a race and deathmatches, that means:
- 1st place: 15 points
- 2nd place: 12 points
- 3rd place: 10 points
- 4th place: 8 points
- 5th place: 7 points
- 6th place: 6 points
In a mission, all players receive 15 points as long as it is successfully completed. For example, if you complete the main task in a heist (these are the big robberies), you earn 16 points, which means an extra point.
If there is a tie at the end of a job during the voting for the next job, the vote of the player with the most job points decides.

Is there a reward? The player with the most JP at the end of a playlist wins the entire round. However, there is no extra reward for this. Job points simply indicate who was the “best” player over several jobs.
There are dedicated playlists for almost all the numerous jobs, so you can organize according to your own preferences.
