Changing or designing license plates in GTA Online is an important feature for many car tuners. We will show you how it works.
What has changed? In the past, you could design and customize your license plates in GTA Online using the iFruit app. But now there is a new license plate editor that you can simply use in your browser.
Create a license plate, select the vehicle you want to attach it to, and then drive it around in the online world of Los Santos.
How to create your own license plates in the editor
Here’s what you need to do: First, you need to have your login details for the Social Club ready. With your email address and password, log in to the Lincense-Plates-Editor on Rockstargames.com.
Now you will see your existing license plates in the overview. You can create up to 30 of them. On the main page, you will see on the left side how many you already have.
- For a new license plate, select “New Order +”
- Now enter up to 8 characters for your license plate in the top text field
- These can be the letters from A-Z and numbers from 0-9
- Make sure you do not enter any insults
- Then you can select one of 5 backgrounds
- Confirm the license plate with “Next” and now select one of your last cars you have driven from the dropdown menu. The license plate will then be mounted on this selection first
- Before you place the order, you should join a session in GTA Online
- Once you place the order for the license plate, you will receive a notification in the game stating that you should drive the selected vehicle to LS Customs
- Upon arrival, you will receive a prompt that states you can perform the app order for free
- Once you have attached the license plate to this vehicle, you will automatically leave LS Customs and can also install the plate on other vehicles
