A new bonus week recently started in GTA Online. However, one bonus is confusing players, as they are now supposed to go skydiving.
What’s new? Every Thursday, the bonuses in GTA Online switch with a new bonus week. Right now, there are triple rewards for parachuting races. However, hardly anyone plays this mode. Players are confused as to why Rockstar wants to spend money here of all places.
GTA Online offers a variety of activities. There are time trials that can earn you over 200,000 GTA dollars in less than 5 minutes. Races with the new Formula cars or even exciting heists on the casino that let you swim in money.
Why parachuting races?
Does anyone even play this? Parachuting races are probably not among the most popular activities in GTA Online. This can be recognized by the fact that in sessions you receive all sorts of invitations to activities on your phone – but almost never to parachuting races.
It seemed unusual when Rockstar stated during the bonus week that this parachuting activity would be paid out with triple rewards. A few players wrote that they simply do not want to claim these rewards.
How much money is there? A few Reddit users tried out the parachuting races. Player EmeronDC filmed his race and shared it with the players. He wrote that he finished the race in first place but was still dissatisfied with the payout of over $12,800. Of course, in many activities in GTA Online you can earn money faster than in 2020.
In the comments, other players write that they prefer to do VIP missions instead of pursuing these skydives.
For VIP work and challenges, there are double GTA dollars and RP in this bonus week. Looking at the comments on Reddit, it’s these activities that players want to engage in, not the skydives.
This is how players react: Usually, a good mood quickly arises during triple rewards in GTA Online. There was great excitement when triple rewards for bunker sales were announced in May. However, that only lasted a few hours and was quickly scaled back to double rewards.
After the announcement of the higher rewards for parachuting, memes quickly followed. The usual shouts in caps lock that they would now play this activity all week or look forward to it were absent from the usual places. The image from SignalFire_Plae mocks how he and his friends go skydiving online and are rewarded with only 10,000 GTA dollars.
Elsewhere, a player wonders if the community is a joke to Rockstar Games and if next week there will be bonuses for golfing (via reddit). The excitement about these rewards was muted.
This ghost car has caused quite a stir in the GTA Online community. After its driver was shot, the car continued to drive and took out the shooter. The car was celebrated for taking revenge for the fallen player.
