In this guide to the time trial “Observatory” in GTA 5 Online we will show you how to easily win the race and secure yourself 102,000 GTA dollars. In just about 2 minutes.
What kind of time trial is this? Every Thursday, the bonus weeks change and so do the time trials in GTA Online. These are the races you drive on the open map. They send you from A to B without checkpoints. If you reach the finish line within the specified time, a big cash reward awaits.
The race Observatory: In this race, Rockstar gives you a time limit of 2 minutes and 4 seconds. If you make it to the finish line in time, the sum of 102,000 GTA dollars will be credited directly to your account.
Win Observatory – Use this route
Where does it start? As the name of the race suggests, the course starts at the Observatory, up in Vinewood Hills. This is located in the northern part of Los Santos. The starting area is directly on a hiking trail behind the parking lot.
The course of the track: You start by following the hiking trail to the northeast and take the right of the two paths. Follow this until it sharply splits right and left, and then drive straight ahead.
Now you drive along a hill and cross the road with momentum. If you want, you can follow the path to the left along the stormwater channel, or now drive directly through the channel. Follow the channel to its end and then cross the road at full speed. This leads you straight to a small earth mound that you use as a ramp.
Depending on your landing, you pass the rusty little house on the left or right and drive straight ahead towards the main road.
Before this large sign, you turn left, paying attention to the wooden posts, and drive across Trevor’s airfield. Then jump over the tracks and now follow the road. Just before the finish, this splits into two roads; there you turn left.
The finish is fenced off with construction fences that you can easily break through with a motorcycle.

Can you repeat the race? Yes, you can race as often as you like. The 102,000 GTA dollars are only awarded once per time trial per week. If you arrive on time at this race again afterwards, you will only receive 2,000 GTA dollars for it.
Which vehicles should you use? Since you will be off-road a lot on this course, a motorcycle is the most suitable. In our test, we reached the finish on time with the BF400 and the Tron bike “Shotaro”. The BF400 is one of the best beginner vehicles in GTA Online because it is surprisingly affordable.
