GTA 6: Release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
When is the release of GTA 6? The release of GTA 6 is planned for May 26, 2026. The game will initially be released only on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Originally, GTA 6 was supposed to be released in the fall of 2025, but Rockstar Games postponed the release on May 2, 2025.
GTA 6 for PC – What do we know?
Will GTA 6 come to PC? When on December 5, 2023, the first trailer for GTA 6 was released, Take-Two announced the release of GTA 6 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in a press release – the PC version was not mentioned (via take2games.com). Also, the second trailer for GTA 6 only mentions the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
However, a release of GTA 6 for PC is not excluded. It is likely that GTA 6 will be released for PC with some delay. Rockstar Games has often released new games first on consoles and then delivered the PC version a few months later – as was the case with GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2.
When will GTA 6 come for PC? Since the PC version of GTA 6 and its release year have not yet been officially announced, no date can be provided. A release on May 26, 2026, seems rather unlikely based on Take-Two’s press release and the information from the first two trailers.
GTA 6 Trailer: Rockstar Games reveals first glimpses
The first trailer for GTA 6 was released on December 5, 2023. Rockstar Games released the 1.5-minute video 15 hours ahead of schedule because the trailer was leaked on the internet and circulated on social media.

What does the first trailer of GTA 6 show? The trailer of GTA 6 provides first impressions of the city life in the metropolis of Vice City. In addition to the first images of the skyline and a view of the surrounding swamps, we are also introduced to the main characters including the protagonist Lucia. We also see some scenes that reference crazy situations from real life that have taken place in Florida.
Trailer 2 of GTA 6 introduces new characters
On May 6, Rockstar Games then released a second trailer for GTA 6, which also presented the new release date again.
What does the second trailer of GTA 6 show? In the second trailer, Rockstar Games introduced the protagonists in more detail and placed a greater focus on their relationship – they apparently are a couple committing crimes together. Additionally, other characters such as Cal Hampton, Raul Bautista, and Brian Heder were introduced for the first time, who were unknown until the release of the second trailer.
The map of GTA 6 – What is known about Vice City
What do we know about the map? GTA 6 will take place in the fictional metropolis of Vice City, which is inspired by Miami in the U.S. state of Florida. Vice City is characterized by a tropical climate.
Similar to Los Santos, the setting of GTA 5, Vice City will also feature a large sandy beach with a promenade and a vibrant nightlife. However, much about the design and size of Vice City is still not known.

Additionally, besides Vice City, the trailers also featured a surrounding swamp area called “Grassrivers” with alligators and flamingos, which could be based on the Everglades National Park.
There will also be Mount Kalaga National Park with various wild animals, rushing rivers, and a forest, as well as the small towns Port Gellhorn and Ambrosia.
