The world of Elden Ring
To further broaden his media horizon, George R. R. Martin also worked as a writer for one of the biggest video games of recent years: Elden Ring from FromSoftware. According to an interview with WTTW, a public broadcaster in the US, Martin primarily developed the world of the game (source: YouTube).
In the interview that took place before Elden Ring was released, he explains that he worked on the game several years prior. He was supposed to have designed a detailed background, based on which FromSoftware then developed the rest. Regularly, the developers showed him monsters and effects.
Of course, various video games in the Game of Thrones
universe were also released. Here, however, we could not find out whether George R. R. Martin worked on any of them, aside from the fact that his world was used as the basis.
