Manufacturer G.Skill has introduced the next product in its “Trident Z Royal” series: golden RAM sticks. They look really stylish with their crystal design. However, the high-end variant also costs a lot of money. For the best models, you can easily pay 400 euros or more, which is not less than for a mid-range graphics card.
The manufacturer G.Skill has introduced the latest representative of its “Trident Z Royal” series in an official post (via Gskill.com). This is the “Elite” version, which is even faster than the previous Royal models.
What kind of RAM is this? This is G.Skill’s flagship product. The “Trident Z Royal Elite” RAM comes in either gold or silver and features a so-called “crown jewel design”. The RGB bar on the memory stick refracts light with its crystals.
Even regarding the internal values, G.Skill relies on high-end. The fastest stick offers a speed of 5333 MHz. It primarily targets enthusiasts and gamers who want to overclock their hardware.
What is the price of the RAM? G.Skill has not yet mentioned a price for the latest model. However, it is likely that the price will be aligned with the current high-end model. The currently available fastest model of the golden G.Skill Trident Z Royal can be obtained from various providers for around 400 euros.
Therefore, the price of the new flagship model is likely to be somewhat higher. Currently, the fastest available RAM with a clock speed of 5100 MHz costs just under 900 euros (via Geizhals.de)
Thus, the price is above that of the RTX 3060 graphics card, which is supposed to have a retail price of 329 euros. However, due to resellers, the prices for graphics cards have significantly increased. Sometimes graphics cards cost double: The RTX 3060 can be found for at least 700 euros or such as the RTX 3080 is sold expensively on eBay.
However, we would not recommend buying an RTX 3060 for 700 euros. The price for the RAM could also potentially exceed the retail price of the RTX 3070 (499 euros).
Here you can check out the RAM: You can see how the RAM and its RGB lighting look in action in the official video from G.Skill. We have embedded the YouTube video here for you:
G.Skill’s “Royal” RAM targets enthusiasts and gamers with overclocking desires

The top model with a speed of 5333 MHz is available as a kit with two 8 GB sticks. At lower speeds, the kit sizes will also be correspondingly larger.

Has anyone already tested the RAM? Since the predecessor is already available for purchase, some users have already been able to examine the RAM.
As the magazine PCGamer (via PCGamer.com) reports, the RAM is among the best that you can currently buy – if you can utilize the performance:
- The RAM is not only very fast but also offers an additional very low latency.
- Moreover, the RAM kit features a unique RGB design that looks really good.
- However, the price is very high.
Most gamers who have a good mid-range system should rather opt for RAM that clocks at 3200 MHz. This should satisfy most gamers more than adequately. G.Skill also offers RAM in at least the silver crown jewel design.

The price on Amazon is always around 160 euros, which is more than comparable RAM. If you want larger and even faster RAM, you are likely to approach the 400 euro mark.
Interestingly, TomsHardware (via TomsHardware.com) comes to a similar test result. Hardly any RAM offers as much performance as G.Skill’s “royal” RAM sticks, but they are far too expensive for the typical mainstream gamer. Only for people who own a system made of high-end components and are interested in overclocking is this high-end product relevant.

If you are interested in luxury hardware, we also have another tip for you: For 9000 euros you can buy a PS5 made of real gold. The gold console comes from the British company Truly Exquisite, which is known for offering extravagant luxury versions of everyday items.
The most expensive PS5 is probably the golden console from the Russian company “Caviar Royal Gift.” This company sells a golden PS5 for 1.5 million euros. Anyone who spends that much money on a console can surely afford the RAM without a second thought.
What do you think? Would you buy such royal RAM, or are you more of a fan of a simpler design? Let us know your opinion in the comments.
