Since March 1, the donation stream of the Twitch streamer metashi12 has been running. On the very first day, the community managed to raise an impressive amount for children with cancer, thanks also to another creator on the platform.
Which donation stream is it about? The German Twitch streamer metashi12 has made headlines in recent days. The reason is the fundraising campaign he launched called “March with Heart.” As the title suggests, there will be streams throughout March to raise money for children with cancer. Here you can find the campaign.
Also joining are other big names from the Twitch scene, for example, HandofBlood. The collected money will be donated at the end to the German Cancer Aid and its foundation, the German Children’s Cancer Aid. This aims to ensure better cancer prevention and care for young patients. Additionally, the money can also support research.
Since the start of the stream on March 1, it has been going very well. So well, in fact, that metashi12 can hardly believe it himself. The contribution of a Twitch colleague and their community has made a significant difference.
On March 23 and 24, also joining: The streamer and YouTuber HandOfBlood:
The community donates €4,000 in record time
Which streamer is being talked about? The Twitch streamer Shlorox participated in metashi12’s fundraising campaign with his community.
During his WoW session, metashi12 kept an eye on the donation page multiple times. When around €8,000 had been raised there, metashi12 made a wager in his own Twitch stream. He would donate €500 out of his own pocket if the community of Shlorox managed to reach €12,000 in a short time.
When he refreshed the page for the first time, he adjusted his bet. He would donate €750 if the target was reached. However, metashi12 had not anticipated the community of Shlorox.
They really stepped up and donated a total of €4,000 in just 90 seconds. Thus, the €12,000 target was reached.
The first stream was already a great success
How did the stream continue? Seemingly amazed by the rapid success of his campaign, metashi12 kept betting. If €25,000 were reached on Shlorox’s side, he would personally donate a total of €1,500. This was also easily achieved.
Already after about 29 minutes, €25,000 had been raised for children with cancer. A dedication from the community that metashi12 could hardly believe. He thanked his and Shlorox’s viewers extensively and promised to contribute €1,500 himself.
By the end of the stream, he had raised €35,000. But that was just the beginning. As of today, March 4, 2024, over €89,000 has already been raised. An impressive amount that is likely to increase significantly by the end of the month, especially when streamer giants like HandofBlood participate with their communities.
This same campaign was held by metashi12 last year. Back then, over €200,000 in donations were gathered. Twitch itself has also donated money in the past for a children’s hospital.
