In Genshin Impact, and in other gacha games, rerolls are often used to obtain better rewards. But what exactly is behind this and can you get banned for it?
What are rerolls? In Genshin Impact, the rarest characters and weapons can only be obtained through a gacha system. Luck plays a big role in this, but it also encourages spending money on the game – after all, it’s a way to get more wishes.
Rerolls are about continuously obtaining free wishes to unlock the best characters. It works as follows:
- You create a new account
- You complete the tutorial and bring the account to Adventure Rank 5 – This takes 15 to 30 minutes, depending on your experience.
- At Rank 5, you receive 10 Acquaint Fate, which you can use to obtain characters or special equipment.
- If you are satisfied with the rewards, you keep the account. If not, you simply create a new one.
Are rerolls worth it? With this method, you have the chance to get 4 or even 5-star characters early in the game. However, these chances are not very high:

Nevertheless, rerolls can be worth it. After all, you can save a lot of money and don’t have to invest $2,000 in your desired character, as this streamer did.
What are the best characters for rerolls? The best characters you can obtain with this method are:
- Fischl – Fischl is “only” a 4-star character and thus has higher chances. At the same time, she belongs to the S-tier, making her one of the strongest characters in the game.
- Diluc – 5 stars and S-tier
- Qiqi – 5 stars and S-tier
- Venti – 5 stars and S-tier
- Chongyun – 4 stars and A-tier

Rerolling – Is this possible on all platforms? And is it legal?
Does the method work on all platforms? On PC and mobile, rerolling is not a problem at all. You just need enough email addresses to create an account repeatedly.
On PS4, it’s a different story. Here, you would have to create a new PSN account each time, as this is linked with Genshin Impact.
On Xbox, Genshin Impact is not available at all. Currently, there are no plans for a version.
Is rerolling legal? Rerolling is viewed controversially in the community. However, there are currently no indications that the developers would punish such a system.
As the website Millenium describes, there have been bans related to rerolls in China, but these concerned accounts being sold with the best characters. The ban did not apply to rerolling itself.
What are the disadvantages of rerolls? The biggest disadvantage of rerolls is clearly the time factor. After all, you have to invest 15 to 30 minutes each time, which could be completely in vain.
