In the new event of Genshin Impact you can get a Mini-Seelie as a pet. Mein-MMO author Benedikt Schlotmann says: I definitely want to have it!
In Genshin Impact, the new event “Missing Treasures has started. Here, besides Original Resin, experience books, and other resources, there is also a unique reward to earn: A Seelie as a pet.
What is a Seelie? Seelies can be found all over the map of Genshin Impact. If you bring them to their pillar, you receive a treasure chest that you can then open. In the new area of Dragonspine, the Seelies even warm the player. Seelies cannot talk or speak, but many players know them from the game world.
That’s why I would like to have the pet: I am someone who likes to complete games fully. I play many games until I have truly explored all areas to 100%, found every chest, and collected every possible achievement. Genshin Impact is one such game that awakens the explorer and collector spirit in me.
The Seelie now rekindles my completion desire. On the one hand, it is really cute to look at, and on the other hand, there is no reason why you shouldn’t have it. I don’t have to pay any money for it and theoretically, I just need time to be able to unlock it in the end.
Genshin Impact: I want the free pet – but there are two catches
The Mini-Seelie costs nothing, but you need something else, namely time, to complete the event tasks. And here lies the first problem.
The first catch: Right now it looks like we can only get the pet during the “Missing Treasures” event. This runs from January 8, 2021 to January 18, 2021.
Anyone who doesn’t log in regularly or at least doesn’t complete the event tasks towards the end won’t gather the necessary event currency.
Since I definitely want the Seelie pet, I have to do all the missions and also the multiplayer challenges, because that’s the only way I’ll get enough iron coins together. I already don’t feel like it when I think back to the challenge “Frosty Wonder”.
This is how the last event went: Here I had to defeat a plant in single or multiplayer to obtain the necessary currency to buy the Crown of Wisdom. There were various problems:
- The multiplayer battles were often pure chaos.
- Overall, it was a very grindy affair. Sooner or later the mood was gone after the third battle.
Pretty annoyed, I still managed to collect the necessary event currency for the Crown of Wisdom in the end.
The second catch: In the end, you will have to choose one of the three Seelie variants, and you cannot obtain all three variants.
The three variants are
- Sea Cabbage
- Red Cheeks
- Turmeric
I find that very unfortunate in hindsight, especially because I like all three possible colors.
In addition to the Seelies, there is also a lot of Original Resin available in the event. In mid-January, the next 5-star character Ganyu is expected, for whom it is probably worth saving this Original Resin from the event. Or one hopes now for the Geo character Albedo.
