Date – When does the gamescom 2026 take place?
When does the gamescom start and end? The gamescom 2026 takes place from Wednesday, August 26, 2026, to Sunday, August 30, 2026. The opening hours vary depending on the visitor and location:

Important: For exhibitors, the entertainment and business area will open at 7:00 AM. Wednesday is the professional visitors’ and media day. On this day, no private visitors are allowed at the fair, unless they hold a wildcard.

How much does it cost to visit the gamescom? This year, there are different types of tickets, with prices varying depending on the visitor. We have listed the different types and prices for private visitors:

Is there a wildcard? Yes, if you want to go to the gamescom on Wednesday from 1:00 PM, you can also get a so-called wildcard ticket. This costs 65.50 euros and is only valid for Wednesday from 1:00 PM.
What about tickets for Opening Night Live (ONL)? The ONL takes place on August 25, 2025. Unfortunately, the tickets for it are already sold out (see gamescom.global).
Where can I buy tickets? You cannot purchase tickets on-site, so you need to order them online in advance. It is best to buy your tickets from the official tickets shop of the gamescom. If you have a code for your tickets, you can also redeem it.
With your ticket, you will also receive a free ticket for the VRS. So you do not have to pay for travel on public transport.

Where are which halls? The exhibition grounds are large, which is why the hall plan can be helpful. So far, there is no official hall plan, but in previous years the distribution was as follows:
