Date – When does gamescom 2026 take place?
When does gamescom start and end? The gamescom 2026 will take place from Wednesday, August 26, 2026, to Sunday, August 30, 2026. The opening hours vary depending on the visitor and location:

Important: For exhibitors, the entertainment and business areas are open from 07:00. Wednesday is the trade visitors and media day. On this day, no private visitors are allowed into the fair unless they have a wildcard.

How much does a visit to gamescom cost? This year, there are various ticket types with prices that vary depending on the visitor. We have listed the different types and prices for private visitors:

Is there a wildcard? Yes, if you want to enter gamescom on Wednesday from 13:00, you can also get a so-called wildcard ticket. This costs 65.50 Euros and is only valid for Wednesday from 13:00.
What about tickets for Opening Night Live (ONL)? The ONL takes place on August 25, 2025. Unfortunately, the tickets for it are already sold out (see gamescom.global).
Where can I buy tickets? You cannot purchase tickets on-site, so you must order them online in advance. It is best to buy your tickets from the official ticket shop of gamescom. If you have a code for your tickets, you can redeem it as well.
With your ticket, you will also receive a free travel ticket for the VRS. This means you do not have to pay for travel on public transport.
