Fans of ARC Raiders appreciate the shooter because many players are peaceful. Marathon is criticized for its PvP focus, yet the community can also be different.
What makes ARC Raiders special? ARC Raiders is a unique case among extraction shooters: the community loves the peaceful interaction with each other. Many players greet each other when they meet, shout “Don’t shoot” and mess around together – for example, by playing instruments or setting off a huge fireworks display.
While there are also players in ARC Raiders who love and force PvP, they encounter the peaceful gamers only to a limited extent due to matchmaking. As the developers explained, matchmaking prioritizes based on the aggression displayed during player encounters: Those who often shoot first at other raiders primarily end up in lobbies where the other players behave the same way.
