During BlizzCon 2019, Blizzard finally introduced Diablo 4, which fans have been waiting for months. Here is what we know about the release, beta, content, and more.
What will Diablo IV be like? As mentioned in numerous leaks, Blizzard’s new ARPG will be much darker than Diablo 3. The colorful aesthetics and the bright overall look were often points of criticism from players who were not fond of D3.
The gameplay trailer for Diablo 4: In this video, you will see a first glimpse of what to expect in the world around Lilith and other nasty characters. Here is the first gameplay.
The video showcases the first three classes that Blizzard wants to share with you. They are the Sorcerer, the Barbarian, and the Druid.
The dark story: The trailer is particularly dark and grim. It emphasizes how much Blizzard wants to return to the origins of the franchise.
When is the release? Blizzard did not reveal a specific release date for Diablo 4 during BlizzCon. Visitors can now play an early version of the game at the fair. According to Blizzard, the release of Diablo 4 is “not soon”
What is new in Diablo 4?
A new antagonist: The new title in the series takes place four years after Diablo 3. Now Lilith enters the scene, she is the daughter of Mephisto – rumors claim she is the mother of all humans.
At the start, Blizzard briefly introduced the three classes Sorcerer, Barbarian, and Druid. What the classes can do, you can see here:
An open world: In Diablo 4, you can choose how to play in the open world. The five regions are seamlessly connected and can be played in any order. There will even be world bosses waiting for you in the open world.
There are mounts: With your mounts, you travel from zone to zone.
How is it played? You can play alone or in a group with up to 4 players as usual. Interesting for you will be rune words and talent trees to refine your playstyle even further.
For what platforms is Diablo 4 being released? Blizzard announced D4 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
What happened before? Before the official reveal of Diablo 4, some leaks were already circulating. An art book mentioned Diablo IV for the first time, and later on one page of this book, Lilith was shown, who is said to play an exciting role in D4.
Shortly before BlizzCon, this leak already revealed three classes from D4 and gave a rough idea of what changes are expected in the new installment of the series.
