The Chinese MMORPG Swords of Legends Online is set to release soon. Developer Gameforge now provides insights into the dungeons in the form of new gameplay and screenshots. MeinMMO shows you what to expect.
What kind of game is this? Swords of Legends is a Chinese MMORPG that was initially released in 2019. It is now coming to Europe. The game emphasizes story and quests, which are heavily based on Chinese mythology and folklore.
There are dungeons, raids, various PvP content, and housing.
Gameplay footage from the game’s dungeons has now been released, coming from the alpha version. The gameplay provides insight into the atmosphere and the battles that await you. There are also some screenshots.
Dark Atmosphere, Enemies, and Boss Fights
This is what the gameplay shows: In the video from MMORPG.com, you can see the dungeon “Raging River Ruins” at the highest difficulty level. Players fight through groups of enemies, delving deeper into a dark ruin. Effects race across the screen.
The whole experience is reminiscent of classic MMORPGs. There are buffs, debuffs, area attacks, and the enemies seem to withstand quite a bit. Especially against bosses, it can take minutes before they finally go down.
There are several stages, each with a miniboss, before you face the final boss of the dungeon at the end. For each boss you defeat, there are rewards in the form of gear.
In another video from developer Gameforge (via YouTube.com), the dungeon “Nightmare Temple of Mercy” is shown, which proceeds in a very similar fashion.
- Apparently, each dungeon is divided into three stages.
- The first two have a miniboss each.
- In the third stage, the final boss of the dungeon awaits.
On the official website, developer Gameforge has also released a PvE trailer for the dungeons:
