World of Warcraft Classic is restarting once again. If you want to join in, you should seize the opportunity now.
Do you want to play World of Warcraft Classic and experience the launch of a new realm before everything settles down? Then you now have the chance, as the fresh Anniversary Realms for World of Warcraft Classic will start tomorrow. This could be the last chance for a big Classic reset.
What are these realms? The “Anniversary Realms” are entirely new Classic realms that launch to celebrate the 20th anniversary of World of Warcraft. The realms are available in all regions, and there is also a “Hardcore” variant for those who want to tackle particularly tough challenges. The realms will go through all release phases of the major raids and PvP content.
When does it start? The kickoff for the new realms is on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 11:00 PM. From then on, you can visit the new Classic realms and dive back into the classic World of Warcraft.
Dual-Spec and new rules improve gameplay
Are there new rules in the realms? Yes! Blizzard has learned from the old Classic realms and is also taking some lessons from the Season of Discovery. Here are the following changes to the new Classic realms:
- GDKP runs (auctioning loot for gold in raids) are prohibited.
- There is a “Trade (Services)” channel. Services like portals, summons, and so on can only be offered there.
- There is a “Looking for Group” tool that can help find like-minded players for various activities.
Additionally, there are a few new features that were decided just a few hours ago (via us.forums.blizzard.com):
- Letters within the same account are delivered instantly.
- The buff/debuff limit is lifted. You can dot your enemies endlessly or hot allies without stealing valuable buffs from them.
- Dual-Spec is available. Each character can have two specializations.
These changes were decided on short notice due to feedback and are meant to make Classic feel a bit smoother while allowing all players to play their characters as they see fit.
If this is not for you, don’t worry: Mists of Pandaria Classic is already ‘just around the corner’.
