Today, Monday, June 11, the new update 4.4 for Fortnite will be released. To install it, the servers will be taken down for maintenance. Fortnite is therefore offline on PS4, PC, Xbox One, and iOS. What’s in the patch and when will the servers be back online?
Epic seems to have a preference for varying the days when patches and updates go live for Fortnite. Until a few weeks ago, Tuesday was considered the weekly reset with new content and challenges, but Epic has seemingly thrown all that out the window – so this week we will enjoy new content and server downtime on a Monday.
Servers Going Offline – When Will Fortnite Be Back?
When will the server downtime start? If nothing unexpected happens, matchmaking will be disabled at 09:30 AM German time. The servers should be down by 10:00 AM German time.
When will the Fortnite servers be back online? A precise time is currently not known. However, experience shows that you should be able to log back in between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM. It’s worth it, Epic has cool new features in store.
Update: Around 11:38 AM, the maintenance work on Fortnite was underway. The servers should be back online.

What Will Update 4.4 Bring for Fortnite: Battle Royale Players? The already announced infrared assault rifle with scope is considered certain. It reveals the position of enemy players. Depending on its use, the new assault rifle could completely eliminate camping in Fortnite: Battle Royale.
It will be interesting whether enemy players are also visible in a bush found as an item. This would make the bush completely unnecessary and likely cause some discontent in the community.
Additionally, there will certainly be several improvements to the game itself. Will traps be nerfed again? The general opinion is that 150 damage points are too much for a trap. It remains to be seen whether Epic will react here.
At the top of the players’ wish list: The double pump. The combination of two pump shotguns is seen as overpowering since a double fire rate can be achieved with two pump shotguns compared to one alone. Will Epic respond with update 4.4?
What Will Update 4.4 Bring for Save the World Players? This week, the PvE faction can look forward to the following content:
- Blockbuster Part 3
- New antimatter sniper in the weekly event store
- the re-rolling of weapon blueprints
- Report function
Especially the report function should please many players. They have been complaining for some time about players who are inactive or just want to grab rewards without being helpful to the progress of the whole group.
